Ex-cop and current Councillor Peter Levy has secured the LibDem nomination. This is his Candidate Statement. Bristol City Councillor Gary Hopkins, Bath councillor Lisa Brett, and former Deputy Leader of Somerset Council Jane Lock lose out.

On the Conservative side, Ken Maddock has stepped down from his role as Leader of Somerset Council to run for Police & Crime Commissioner, and has won the Conservative nomination. Here is Ken Maddock’s contribution to our ‘Risking It All’ series.

Bob Ashford was elected as the Labour candidate with 891 votes, against John Savage, who received 505 votes from Labour party members in the postal ballot.

Please note that Bob Ashford has decided to stand down after learning that convictions as a teenager 46 years ago, for which he was fined less than a fiver, disqualify him from bing a PCC. Dr John Savage CBE, the runner-up, has taken his place.

Avon and Somerset Police Authority have a PCC site here.
