Territorial Army officer Mike Caseman-Jones has submitted his application to be a candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner in Northamptonshire.

Lt Colonel Caseman-Jones TD confirmed the news in a tweet to the 7 followers in his nascent campaign on 10 February.

The former police officer, diplomat, and Freemason becomes the first person openly to seek the post in Northamptonshire, and is seeking the Labour party nomination.

Caseman-Jones LinkedIn profile reveals a past as a Firearms officer, a Police Federation representative, an emergency planner, and a Staff Officer in the British Embassy in Basra, and he has some media experience talking to local radio about his time in Afghanistan.
